You will be picked up and dropped off at the train station near the Vatican (St. Peter Train Station)  by your private English speaking driver who will drive you to see the most important sights.

You will have the opportunity in 5 hours to see many sights including St. Peter’s Basilica and it’s magnificent Square, if you want you can also schedule a visit to the Vatican Museums (including Sistine Chapel and Saint Peter’s Basilica, if and when it’s open), Colosseum, Capitol Hill and the overview of all the Roman Forum, Piazza Venezia, the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Pickup time: approx. 09:30 am

Dropoff location: St.Peter train Station in Rome
Dropoff time: approx. at 04:30 pm

When in Rome this is a 6 hour Tour of Rome with private vehicle and driver.

Arrange on your own the trips from Civitavecchia port to St. Peter train Station and back. After disembarking the cruise ship, a free shuttle bus will pick you up and take you to the front entrance of the port. From there you will walk about four blocks to reach the train station. The walking distance between the port entrance and the train station is less than a kilometer.

Once you reach Rome you will meet the driver outside St. Peter Train Station holding a sign with your name on.

We will drive you with an expert English speaking driver in a luxury vehicle to see the best sites of Rome for a wonderful but affordable experience in the Eternal City!

The Price for the train is about 4,60 Euros per person each way.

Both Civitavecchia and Rome Stations have manned ticket offices that take credit cards and there are also ticket machines.

In the Best of Rome NOT INCLUDING Vatican Museums you will have the opportunity to enjoy more time visiting the important sights and more time tasting the real Italian/Roman food (not included in the price).

Extra Information:

• Duration of Tour: about 6 hours (anyway in time to be to the St. Peter train Station to take the train).
• Air-conditioned, fully insured and licensed legal vehicle with professional English speaking driver and permissions to enter the historical center of Rome.
• The vehicle and Driver will be at your complete disposal for the entire duration of the tour and they can take you where big buses cannot go, you will walk definitely less and see more!
• All tours can be modified and/or customized (even while on tour) to meet your complete satisfaction.
• If you would like to have lunch or quick snack our driver can suggest a nice café, restaurant or pizzeria. To avoid unpleasant surprises it’s always best to inform your Driver on how much you would like to spend.
• Our English speaking Driver will give a general overview regarding the history of the sites and monuments while in the car before you enter. He will allow all the time you need to visit with NO RUSHING as in group tours. By Italian law he is unable to conduct guiding inside museums, monuments, etc. If you prefer a private Licensed Tour Guide, he/she will narrate from both inside the vehicle and will also enter the sites with you. Official Licensed Guides are selected by us and require an extra cost.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

We suggest to visit inside the Vatican Museums for 2 hours. You can visit on your own or with a private guide. Since the drive can’t enter with you, and since it’s difficult to give detailed information on such a huge area, we always recommend to hire a private guide to enter the Vatican with you for an extra cost.

Anyway you can rent the Audio-Guides at the entrance of the Vatican Museums instead if you don’t want the certified guide.

A dress code is required to enter places of worship and selected museums. No shorts or sleeveless tops allowed. Knees and shoulders MUST be covered for both men and women. You may risk refused entry if you fail to comply with these dress requirement.
